Systems Lab

Notes, workflows, and system design thinking around HAQLY ERP.

An open notebook for the ongoing ERP project — transaction logic, reporting structure, security and business intelligence, written as the system is built. See the live demo →

Core Principles

How the system is designed

Flow first

Design the flow of work before the screens. A transaction should move through the business the way the business actually moves — no step exists without a reason.

Finance core

The ledger is the heart, not a reporting afterthought. Every operational event resolves into balanced postings, and every figure can be drilled back to its source.

Data integrity

Validation at entry, maker-checker on money movement, and an audit trail on everything. If the data can't be trusted, the dashboards are decoration.

Architecture Map

One flow, end to end

Every transaction travels the same road — from the customer action to the reporting layer — through validation and the ledger engine. Nothing reaches a report without passing through the books.

Finance Engine

Every event, a balanced posting

Sale on credit

DrAccounts ReceivableInvoice total
CrRevenueNet amount
CrOutput VATVAT amount

Receipt from customer

DrBankAmount received
CrAccounts ReceivableAmount received

The posting engine is the contract between operations and finance. Sales, receipts, vouchers and stock movements each declare their Dr/Cr mapping once; the engine enforces balance, period and traceability on every posting.

Because reporting reads only from posted ledger entries, a dashboard figure and the trial balance can never quietly disagree — and any number can be drilled back through the journal to the document that created it.

Compliance

NRS e-Invoicing

Nigeria Revenue Service e-invoicing is the implementation direction for Nigerian businesses. HAQLY is being built ready for it — so compliance becomes a product advantage, not a scramble.

Structured invoice data

Invoices are born structured — every field the authority's format needs exists in the data model from the start, not reconstructed later.

End-to-end traceability

Each invoice traces from creation through posting to its reporting footprint — the evidence chain is the record itself.

API integration readiness

An API-ready architecture at the invoicing seam, so connecting to the authority's platform is an integration task — not a redesign.

Doctrine: the system prepares and keeps the evidence; filing stays with the authority's platform.

Automotive Context

Designed from real operations

The design is shaped by automotive operations: warehouse flows where stock moves between locations and lifecycle stages, aftersales tracking across workshops, and the reconciliation patterns that arise when CRM, stock and finance records must agree. Those patterns — movement trails, stage discipline, reconciliation by design — are built into the platform's core, not bolted on per industry.

Roadmap

Near-term

  • Approval workflows hardening — maker-checker depth across payments and postings
  • e-Invoicing integration — connecting the ready invoicing seam to the authority's platform
  • BI layer expansion — more ledger-generated dashboards and reporting
  • Guided data migration — from Sage, QuickBooks and spreadsheets: upload, map, preview, import
